Villa Amor Azul is a 7 bedroom, 7 bath private luxury home in exclusive Playa Ocotal, Guanacaste Costa Rica. Perched cliffside with sweeping panoramic ocean and volcano views but just a 15-minute walk down to the quiet black sand beach at Bahia Pez Vela below.
Across the glorious Gulf of Papagayo and Culebra Bay, volcanos dominate the view to the north. From the terraces, pool deck, kitchen, living area and several bedroom suites, you’ll enjoy unobstructed views of Parque Nacional Santa Rosa and the open Pacific Ocean.
The Villa & the Casita:
The main home features multiple entertainment and dining spaces both indoors and out as well as more-intimate balconies for private getaways.
The 5 bedrooms in the main home have air conditioning and ceiling fans. With the exception of the bunk room, all have ensuite bathrooms.
The separate and private but easily accessible Casita Amor Azul has 2 bedrooms (1 queen bedroom and 1 small bunk room), a kitchen, living room, bathroom, separate secured parking and a private deck with a cocktail pool. It enjoys the same spectacular views as the Villa.
Nature Abounds at Villa Amor Azul
During a typical stay, guests will see reptiles, parrots, probably howler monkeys in our trees, and with some luck, dolphins or whales in the bay.
Other regular visitors to the property are the notorious mapache (raccoons), coati (who love our mango and cashew trees) anteaters, toads, land crabs and too many tropical bird species to list. Larry, the Villa's resident iguana is ever-present.
Please don't feed or harass the wildlife.
For wildlife adventures off the property, day tips to several national parks and refuges are possibilities. For water adventures, our boat captain can pick up your group at the beach below the house or at nearby Playa Ocotal (5 minutes).

It's hard to leave Villa Amor Azul.
The amenities, its privacy, the views, a gourmet kitchen and the howler monkeys are all good reasons to stay home.
And there are great reasons to stay in the neighborhood. A 12-minute walk to our quiet black sand beach and the delicacies at Soluna Bistro at the Bahia Pez Vela Resort are just down the hill. For mellow beach bar vibes and live music, Father Rooster is only a 5 minute drive.
Just a short drive from the Villa, you’ll find dozens of incredible beaches, shopping, grocery stores, restaurants and activities to fill your days and nights. Playa Hermosa and El Coco are within 15-20 minutes.
But amazing adventures await in every corner of Costa Rica. Explore a little further to Playa Flamingo and its brand new, world class Marina.
